EHL Strength Test

To do:

With the client seated, they should extend the big toe.

The therapist then applies downward pressure on the big toe to try and flex it

Positive sign:

The client is unable to resist the force of the therapist

EHL Length Test

To do:

The therapist flexes the big toe, while plantar flexing foot

Positive sign:

Limited range of motion or a stretch felt along the muscle
