Fibularis Longus Strength Test

To do:

With the client seated, the therapist should have them bring their foot into eversion and plantar flexion.

The therapist then tries to bring their foot into inversion and dorsiflexion, as the client resists

Positive sign:

The client is unable to resist the therapist’s force.

Fibularis Longus Length Test

To do:

With the client seated, the therapist brings client’s foot into inversion and dorsiflexion

Positive sign:

Limited range of motion or a stretch felt along the muscle
