Hamstring Strength Test

To do:

The client should be prone with knees flexed around 70 degrees. The therapist will stabilize the affected pelvis and posterior tibia on affected side.

For assessment of the medial hamstrings, the therapist will lightly internally rotated the client’s femur and place their knee in 70 degree flexion against gravity. The client will hold this position while the therapist attempts to extend the knee. 

Positive sign:

Pain in the medial hamstrings
