Brachialis Strength Test

To do:

The therapist places the client’s elbow at 90 degrees of flexion with forearm fully pronated,

The therapist gets the client to resist the inferior force put on the distal forearm 

Positive Sign:

The client is unable to withstand the force of gravity or the therapist’s force

Brachialis Length Test

To do:

The therapist places the client’s elbow into an extended position

Positive Sign:

Restricted range of motion or a stretch felt along the muscle
