Brachioradialis Strength Test

To do:

The therapist gets the client to flex their elbow to 90 degrees with their hand midway between supination and pronation.

The therapist applies a downward pressure on the distal forearm as the client tries to maintain flexion

Positive Sign:

The client is unable to hold the position against the therapist’s force

Brachioradialis Length Test

To do:

The client keeps the wrist in a neutral position and extends the elbow

Positive Sign:

Limited range of motion or a stretch is felt along the muscle
